I’ve watched PP season 2 many times and still don’t understand what was Kamui doing there. I know Makishima’s goal. Or even Tougane’s. But Kamui? I must be have lower IQ than Shisui’s so I would never understand why some people have to sacrifised themselves to help Kamui achieved anything that he’d trying to get. Killing so many people just to get acknowledment? I almost believe that he wanted to destroy the system. But in the end, he only wanted to be recognize. Sigh.
Basically, he wanted revenge against the system for what happened to him and those other people during the Season of Hell. He could convince others to work for him by promising them a clear hue through the drugs (LACOUSE) he offered. His goal to enact his revenge was to force Sibyl to be judged on its own terms. If more people had to be sacrificed for that cause, Kamui believed it was worth it sense they were doing so “unjudged” by the system and of their own free will.
That whole thing was a mess.
It really was a mess. I’m rewatching everything (and my God, it’s so much better the second time) and honestly I don’t really want to watch season 2 except to watch Akane take charge, while also doing some intense pining.
@apesdonthavetails Same. I still haven’t rewatched the second season, which is a shame because I love some of the moments with (solo) Akane and Akane and Gino.
The pining was such a great touch. She’s arguably the strongest character in the series, and to see her broken by something so human is delicious characterization.
